Payment policy

Individual direct bookings

To secure a reservation, 10% of the total booking cost is required at the time of booking.
This deposit is non-refundable. The deposit can be used towards a new date of travel within 12 months if informed 42 days or more from original check-in date.
New travel date may be subject to price increase and will be informed at time of re-booking.
The remaining balance will be automatically charged to a Visa, Mastercard or Amex (2% card surcharge will apply) 41 days prior to check-in, please ensure adequate funds are available.

Accepted payments
Visa, Mastercard or AMEX. Each will incur a 2% card surcharge on all transactions.

Group bookings (4 + rooms)
In an effort to mitigate credit card fraud, group bookings for four or more rooms will require payment via direct deposit only. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking unless travel is within 42 days whereby full payment is required to confirm your reservation. Deposit amount will be determined by amount of rooms and length of stay.

The deposit can be used towards a new date of travel within 12 months if informed 42 days or more from original check-in date.

Travel agent bookings

Clients booking through travel agents, please note that you will be required to pay as per their payment policy, which may differ to ours.

Cancellation fees  For direct bookings only. Please note cancellation policies may differ if booking through a third party.

  • 42 days or more from arrival – Deposit only
  • 41 – 30 days from arrival – 50%
  • 29 days or less from arrival – 90%

Applicable refunds will only be provided to the original form of payment.

Credit card security upon check-in
You will be required to provide a valid card upon arrival for room security and incidentals and any outstanding balance will be charged upon your departure.

Minimum age policy

We are a luxury retreat in a pristine natural environment. For everyone staying at Sea Dragon to enjoy this quality experience we welcome guests 12 years and over. Safety is our primary concern. Unlike a resort or a hotel, our property is not set up to ensure the safety of unsupervised young children.

Smoking policy

Smoking is NOT permitted in any building or vehicle. Luxury Spa Villa guests may smoke outside on their deck, but must ensure butts are disposed of correctly otherwise there is a risk of bushland catching alight. There is a designated smoking area for Room and Suite guests near Reception.

Pet policy

We do not accept pets of any kind (certified Assistance dogs welcome). Not only is our property a wildlife sanctuary, our rooms are promoted as allergy-free.

Swimming at Pink Bay

The secluded beach accessible from our property, Pink Bay, is unpatrolled and swimming is at the guests’ own risk. Guests, even those who are confident swimmers, should make themselves aware of swimming conditions. Cleaning & breakage policy

We strive to present our rooms in immaculate condition for guest enjoyment, and in return we expect our rooms to be checked-out in a tidy condition. If there is evidence of cigarette smoking inside, areas left in an un-hygienic condition, or damaged furniture and fixtures, we will charge a minimum fee of $250. Minor breakages should be reported to the Duty Manager upon check-out.

Ferry cancellations due to weather

On the very rare occasion, high winds will prevent the ferries from running between Cape Jervis on the mainland and Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. In the event your booked ferry to Kangaroo Island is cancelled due to weather and you are unable to travel on a later ferry to arrive on the same day as planned, we will provide a credit of the unused portion of your booking to use again within a 12-month period. You can also choose to transfer this credit to a friend or family member for them to use towards a new booking (credit cannot be transferred towards an existing booking).

Alternatively, we can provide a letter for your travel insurer to claim the unused portion of your booking from them, in which case, no credit will be provided.

Should one of these rare cancellations occur and you are unable to travel back to the mainland, you will be offered to extend your stay at a discounted rate, subject to availability.

Flight cancellations or missed transport 

Please note we do not refund or credit in the event of flight cancellations or other missed transport resulting in a booking not being fulfilled.

For this reason, we highly recommend travel insurance, even for Australian domestic travellers. We can provide a letter for your travel insurer to claim the unused portion of your booking.

Participation and dietary waiver

Acknowledgement of our Terms and Conditions includes acceptance of our Participation and Dietary waiver on behalf of their travelling party.

Drone photography & videography
Drones are not permitted on Sea Dragon property or on tour without prior written permission from property owners and/or relevant bodies such as National Parks.

Marketing
By completing a booking with Sea Dragon Kangaroo Island, you accept to be contacted in the future with promotions, specials and updates.
