Talk & Taste

Kangaroo Island honey and native foods

Kangaroo Island, renowned for its pristine environment, boasts a thriving honey industry centred around the pure Ligurian bee which was brought to the island from Italy in 1884. Shortly after, it was declared a sanctuary and therefore remains the oldest bee sanctuary in the world, producing honey of exceptional quality. Guests at Sea Dragon can enjoy a tasting workshop of Kangaroo Island honey and its products learning about the unique flavours and characteristics of each. Thanks to the purity of our island’s agriculture, we also harvest some unique native ingredients that are included in many of our dishes and which will be sampled as part of this experience.
